Birthday Celebration Cookies!

So little blogging time...but so many cookies!  Today let's cover some birthday celebrations.  They were all milestone birthdays, so I like that I can add a cookie with significant number on it.  Also I love the flower cookies.  It adds dimension to a platter and makes it even more special. I usually add  the candle cookie on a platter for a group, as it makes a little smaller cookie, and sometimes we forget that not everyone wants a giant cookie!

First, my MIL turned 90!  Wow! What an amazing milestone.  I made a platter of cookies and she took them to her celebration of all the October birthdays at the home she lives in.  She wasn't quick enough to get a cookie though.  Geesh.  I would have slipped one out before I decided to share!

90 Years Young!

Next up, a 50th birthday party!  They were going to a wine dinner, so I played on the theme. The corks are some of my all time favorite cookies!  I have a vision of a platter of corks...I just think they are so dang fun.  And of course, I collect them...I will have to post some of my cork creations!

One of my golfing friends has a group of gals that get together every year and do one big birthday celebration.  This year they all turned 75!  What a fun birthday to celebrate with a bunch of gal pals.  It was the heart of the summer so I kept the colors light and bright!

I'm always so honored to be a part of a celebration, especially a milestone birthday like these.  What a fun addition to a birthday for those who don't like cake.  Wait, are there actually people who don't like birthday cake?  I'm pretty sure we aren't friends.  What are you waiting for?  Get in there and bake!!!  And Happy Birthday.

Party For the Baby!

So I have been busy, busy, busy.  Just not busy writing.  I thought I'd do a post on the baby cookies I've been making recently.

I do love Pooh, and I thought this sweet face was the perfect way to capture his sweetness.  I was very reluctant to take this one on, but I have done many cookies for this friend, so I jumped in!

Books are among my favorite things to give when there is a new baby.  Of all the things I have sold and given away and tossed from my own kids childhood, I can honestly say the book shelves remain full.  I cannot part with the stories, the illustrations and the memories they all hold.  These were for a shower themed with this famous caterpillar!!  Such a joyous event to celebrate, and I do love a good theme!!!

One of my Pure Barre instructors (one of a few!) have made me a part of their kids celebrations.  From the baby showers to the birthday parties, I just love it.  These little dump trucks were so much fun to load up with black jimmies and sprinkles!

The crayon cookies were not my favorite to make.  First I had to fudge the cutter, and I feel like they lose some of their hard lines when you pull a knife across the dough. The made a great platter, and frankly, the 4 year olds didn't find their imperfection.

Finally some sailboats for a one year old, poor thing is land-locked right here in Memphis!  But here's to calm seas and smooth sailing!

That's all for now!  Come over to Instagram and you will see that I do post cookies frequently!!  What are you waiting for?  Get in there and bake!

Religious Celebration Cookies

I love a good celebration, and regardless of your faith, I think we can agree that faith itself is a good thing!  I love a child all dressed up for a ceremony be it Communion, Baptism, or even wedding. Much more on weddings to follow, like every month I am coming up with a wedding platter!  We have even had one of our own and another happening soon!
